(Automated External Defibrillator)

When to use:

• If casualty is unresponsive and has difficulty breathing.
• if in doubt, use the AED, it will work out if the casualty really needs it.

How to use:

• Press green button.
• Listen to instructions for placement of pads
• Press orange shock button ONLY if indicated
  • NEVER touch the patient when the shock is being administered.
• You can continue to administer CPR after the patient has been shocked.
