After a long hard spring training in the heat and humidity, the B Team were raring to go at the Asian Gaelic Games 2007.

 

The B Team found themselves playing the odd game in between serious warm up & warm downs let by our infamous pregnant not-to-to mess-with trainer, Denise. Her extra oestrogen burst really had us all sweating!

 

Our Captain thought it would be clever tactic to turn up for the weekend without a jersey… prepared to play topless to distract the other team if necessary, but hubby would have none of it and he high tailed it home to recover said jersey and save the little modesty that his wife had left.

 

The glove monster had visited Claire the night before, putting her in a frantic panic, but her elephant fingers were no match for her brute determination to carry on. And then the emergency glove van turned up to the rescue.

 

After a series of ‘almost wins’ against Seoul, HK, and some other controversial team, we were victorious against Japan B, Superstar Claire scored a hat trick.

 

Our final game was against the ‘Savages’ from Japan, who due to administrative errors ended up in our division.

 

After an exhausting weekend, the fitness of the Singapore Lions was put to the test at the Sentosa beach party; the evening consisted of multiple boat races, a dance marathon and a human pyramid that would have made any group of cheerleaders proud.

 

No one remembers the night’s conclusion… but we all lived on happily ever after!
