On to Game 2 and we were delivered a near fatal blow against the desert dwellers, Dubai A, with Ads "who needs all of your" Lim(s) taking a hit to her bad one...Although we went down in the end we held our own with stunning displays of defense from Gret - ta - ta "I ate a man in Munich" Hazlett and Gillian "Just one more question" Hayes...not to mention the miraculous saves by Kym "nothin' gets past me" Tonkin. 

The afternoon matches against Japan and The Bitsa's (HK, S, SH, ??) were filled with plays, plays, plays people - Lucy "I don't stretch for anyone" Meehan to Marti "McFly in midfield" Crosbie to Catriona "quiet achiever" Cochoran over the bar.... Jush "demon of defense" Thorpe, off the boot to Mel "I'll have ice with that" Smith, hand pass to Anne-Marie "goal" Doherty into the back of the net! Indeed by the time we hit SOHO on Sat night spirit levels were high and we were definitely "whaa ooohhh half way there....whaa ooohhh livin on a prayer!".

Day 2 and Coach "Say YEEESSSS" Healy gave us large doses of "Feedback" to prepare us for the challenges that lay ahead, HK B first up, then the semi and all being WELL the B plate Final.  And WELL WELL WELL it was as we pulled out all the stops, proving victorious over Shanghai A by 1 point in the final to take the PLATE!

Tears of joy flowed, the ref was humped, voices were lost, copious amounts of alcohol consumed, a very long ice bath was shared, at last count at least 2760 photo's of said B team members (and anyone else within arms reach) with the PLATE were taken...... and the words of the great Johnny Cash or was it the great Coach Carmody??? were roared - Do do do do Singapore!
