Ladies Football:

10 Ladies Travelled to Bangkok, but we were missing Captain Ca and Gillian this time... Nevertheless it was decided that we would firstly play Singapore v. Hong Kong as the main match and then mix SGL and HK the teams including some brand new players from Malaysia for the following 3 games.

The main match started off slowly for the SGL Ladies who mostly hadn't really done much in terms of stretching the old legs since AGG 2007, and possibly had been out a mite too late the night before.....  But it wasn't long before Rania took charge of mid-field in her customary fashion and Tessa and Claire started slotting in the Goals to bate the band.  Our new Goalie - Greta had a fantastic match and really those of us in defense had a grand time of it altogether!!!  Notable performances from Rachel, Anne-Marie and Siobhan..

Officially the game ended as a draw - but a great showing from SGL for the first match of the season and hopefully a portent of things to come!!

For the rest of the day - we were mixed into other team with the Hong Kong and Malaysia Ladies and played a round-robin set of 3 matches in the blistering near 40-degree heat.  It was great to see Jessica, Mairead and Eileen from Malaysia taking to the pitch and we hope to see them on the pitch in Hanoi too...

All in a great day... Thanks to Jon for the inspirational speeches and the roaring and shouting from the sidelines.  The poor HK girls didn't know whether to take him seriously or not...
